Can you answer Horst S’s question about Arthritis?:

I had a fractured heel and now I experience constant pain. I also have pain in my hip and knee. I saw on tv how athletes have injuries, get something rubbed on the joint and keep on going as if nothing was wrong.

Arthritis Feedback: Stay away from them, they can over time do more harm.

Arthritis Feedback: The best one I’ve found is called Mineral Ice and it’s a water soluble blue gel that cools the pain, think it contains menthol or something like it… topical analgesic… available at any local pharmacy. Better than heat producing ointments in my opinion.

Arthritis Feedback: Ask your doctor or even go to a pharmacy and ask a one of the people that work there (preferably a pharmacist) what they would recommend for your needs.

Arthritis Feedback: In Australia it is possible to purchase ibuprofen in a gel form for topical application without a prescription. The stuff that athletes apply tends to be linament of some sort – usually something with multiple essential oils that can penetrate skin and cause heat in the region you apply it to. It may also relieve pain by a distraction mechanism.

However, it sounds to me that your pains might be a little more long standing and deep seated than those experienced by the athletes on TV.

You should probably have a discussion with your doctor and see if you can get a referral to some form of chronic pain clinic.

They might have some more helpful stuff than linament or ibuprofen gel.

Arthritis Feedback: Asper Cream (you bet if it’s Asper Cream)

Arthritis Feedback: There are over the counter preps which provide heat to help your condition because this will help keep your joints from hurting. You may have arthritis and as a “PHARMACIST” do not medicate yourself with Aleve or Motrin or Advil on your own. Go see a doctor so that you can be properly diagnosed and treated. While these medications may seem harmless, you can actually cause damage to your liver or kidneys with long term unsupervised use. Some of the creams now also have MSM or Glucosamine and Chondroitin which help to keep joints well lubricated and prevent bone on bone activity (which is what makes arthritis so painful). Do not listen to any other advise you get from this site and see your doctor. Most athletes do lots of damage to their bodies that they do not reveal to you so do not let what you see on TV fool you.

Arthritis Feedback: MSM cream is the best…if you use aspercream becareful because youre absorbing the asa through the skin, and if you apply too much you’ll get too much in your system, so follow directions

Arthritis Feedback: “New” research has reinforced what natural practitioners have known for centuries – mint oil is very soothing for pain exactly like yours, and is all-natural, without any problematic chemicals or bad odor. Read about it – just in the news today!
